TEHRAN, April 21 (MNA) -- Rock band Khorramshahr 59 will be celebrating the anniversary of the liberation of Khorramshahr by performing a concert at the Tehran Conservatory of Music on May 24.
Khorramshahr 59, which comprises members of the conservatory, will be conducted by jazz and blues expert Kamran Jahanbani.

This band also performed in last year’s liberation of Khorramshahr celebration.
The port city of Khorramshahr was captured by Iraq on October 26, 1980 and was liberated by Iranian combatants on May 24, 1982, during the Operation ‘Bait-ul-Moqaddas’.
Since that historical moment in time, Iranians have annually celebrated the liberation of Khorramshahr on its anniversary, May 24.
The Tehran Symphony Orchestra conducted by Nader Mashayekhi, will also be performing for this special occasion at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall.
